Revolution aus Geist und Liebe
Hölderlins ›Hyperion‹ durchgehend kommentiert
📕 E-BookThe first continuously text-close commentary on this masterwork by Friedrich Hölderlin. The complete text appears in historical-critical version continuously alongside the commentary. Some philosophical interpretation hypotheses for the literary classification of the work are prefaced on the basis of Heinrichs’ unique genre theory.
The interpretation acknowledges the equally philosophical, lyrical, and dramatic epistolary epic a unique literary rank as a current message: The political renewal now due must be founded in a ‘revolution of sentiments and modes of representation’ (Hölderlin). With the title, Heinrichs simultaneously interprets the title of his earlier published social-philosophical work ‘Revolution of Democracy’ in Hölderlin’s sense: Thoroughgoing renewal is necessary, but only possible from the spiritual foundations.
This analysis appears on the 200th anniversary of the poet’s admission to the Tübingen Tower on May 3, 1807.
